Today our family celebrated Veterans Day. Mike is part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary additionally he is the Public Education Staff officer for his flotilla. Mike (and his flotilla) were a part of the Biggest Veteran's Day Parade west of the Mississippi. Since we live so close to downtown Roxy and I were able to bundle up and walk down to the parade to cheer on Mike.

Roxy was a champ through the parade. The parade started at 11am and by 12:30 I was tired from standing and so we left and the parade was STILL going. The parade was pretty loud, several motorcycle clubs, sirens, horns and a jet fly over and through that all Roxy was quiet and calm. It was a little chilly today, so I had to bundle her up in an outfit that is a little big for her now, but it made it nice and snug for her in the stroller. Now, I have been to and been in ALOT of parades and this one by far had the most eclectic mix of floats that I have ever seen. Being that this was my first Veterans Day Parade, I was quiet surprised to see Santa (didn't know he was a veteran), mini ponies, and Knights of the Round Table as part of the veterans celebration. I guess you will take any float when you need to maintain your title as biggest parade this side of the Mississippi. Overall it was very fun and memorable experience.
