Furniture Filled Weekend

After several weeks (7 to be exact) we got most of our bedroom furniture. We still need one more night stand, but other than that we have everything. We are very excited to "grown up" furniture and we were finally able to put our bedroom back in order. We also got dining table. We found a good deal at a local dealer and we were able to take it right off the floor. We had originally planned to get Mike's grandparents table, but we weren't sure how to get it and we need a big table for Thanksgiving because we will have my family in town. We should be receiving our couches this week and we have a bed for the 2nd bedroom as well. Once those are done then we pretty much done with our big furniture purchases for a while, until after the holidays at least.

This weekend also brought about my crafty side and I did some sewing. Yes, believe it or not I used a sewing machine and made a curtain. I would have made more, but we needed another curtain rod. It isn't bad for a first time and it is kind of addicting, I am looking forward to seeing what else I can make. The machine is a small one, but keep in mind I am a very beginner and we did not want to get a huge one until I knew that I liked it.

Also, in case you have not heard, there was a big win for the Beavs on Thursday. We took down #1 USC-- knocked them out of the top 5. So Corvallis has been celebrating all weekend.

Classes start for OSU tomorrow and I am so excited, because my job of orienting students slows down and we get a little bit of a break. Even though I have already started planning for 2009. We can't believe October is already here. We have a very busy October. Many visitors, trips and conferences, so I am sure it will fly by as well.

Coming Together......Slowly

So we have officially moved everything into the house. We are living 100% in the house. We are still waiting on some of our furniture. That has been a hassle in and of itself. We ordered bedroom furniture, because currently we have none, about 6 weeks ago, let's just say they gave us a 4-6 week delivery time and we are still waiting. Those of you that know me know I don't "wait" well, so it has been driving me crazy. We also bought new couches, but those are scheduled to in until next week. Next big purchase.....a dining table. My family is coming for a visit at Thanksgiving, so we have to have a table to gather around! So that is kind of the summary on the house.

Work is going great. Classes start here on the 29th (quarter system), so both Mike and I are gearing up for students to be back on campus. I have a couple of orientations left and Mike finally gets to meet all his student workers/ building managers. We have been enjoying watching PAC 10 football-- I will say however nothing compares to the SEC.

I know everyone likes pictures so I am going to put up some pictures from earlier this summer. Mike and I were able to get some hiking in this summer. These are from Mary's Peak, which is the highest peak on the Oregon Coast. On a crystal clear day you can see to the ocean...but our day was not clear enough. It still has some snow on it an Animas went crazy, I think she liked being about to grip and dig into the snow. Enjoy!
